Annual ride to Lilacia Park in Lombard. This is a historic public garden specializing in lilacs (200+ varieties) & tulips (50+), with a picnic area.
We usually have brunch/lunch in Lombard, typically at the Egg House, but if we‘re later, there is also a Billy Bricks nearby as well as a Dairy Queen. There would be an option for folks to return via Metra if they‘re time/distance challenged The park is adjacent to the Lombard Metra station. There are trains departing 1:04 & 3:04 pm on Saturdays.
Pace - 11-13 depending on who shows up
Distance: 27 miles RT
Route: Out & back on the Prairie Path or adjacent residential streets
If the weather is miserable, the rain date for this ride would be Saturday 5/16. A cancellation/reschedule notice would go out the day prior. NOTE: you are only notified of changes if you register.
